ACT Supreme Court Redevelopment, Business Case

The ACT Courts Facility Redevelopment Feasibility investigated options for the redevelopment of the existing 1960s heritage Supreme Court located at Civic, Canberra.

Former Hassell (now Baukultur) Principal Mariano De Duonni, lead the design consultancy for the study which contributed to a sound business case and reference scheme for the business case.

The feasibility  was  only considering the redevelopment of the Supreme Court site but the strategic  thinking unlocked the potential for a ‘multi-jurisdictional’ court house by amalgamating the neighbouring Magistrates Court into a ‘single development’.

The strategic move put in place an economy of scale and financial benefit to enable a viable PPP procurement process.
