The Atura Hotel at Adelaide Airport is a study in efficiency and rationality.
Always a challenging commercial proposition, this particular hotel project took several years to be realised. The project’s eventual feasibility was underpinned by an extremely efficient plan – cores and fire escapes set out according to the most optimal locations demanded by regulations, with rooms then laid out accordingly.
Although this simple approach yielded the required efficiency gains, it has not been at the expense of the building’s presence within the airport precinct.
