Collaboration through serendipity and ritual

The researchers at ANU’s Research School of Social Sciences collaborate through rituals they have established over many years, as well as the more familiar serendipitous encounters that can be seen in contemporary workplaces. The cycle of thinking in individual offices, then testing ideas with colleagues at formal staff get-togethers has set the tone of this building – the academic office rather than an open plan workplace makes sense in this case.

It is a great example of how the Hassell team, led by former Hassell Principals (now Baukultur directors) David Homburg and Mariano De Duonni listened and responded to the client’s specific needs.
